I am a Cubase user switched to Pro Tools for compatibility with other studios. I was wandering, is there a pitch correction tool like Cubase Vari Audio, in Pro Tools 10? I am looking to correct a few flat lines, surgically in Pro Tools. In cubase, you can straighten out a vibrato, or snip a line in two, and adjust the pitch accordingly. Sometimes the best pitch correction option for you is held within one specific DAW. Such is the case with Newtone from FL Studio. Newtone is their version of pitch correction software that comes with a similar layout to Melodyne and Waves Tune. It does not come with FL Studio itself but is a separate purchase. I moved from pro-tools to cubase few years ago, currently using cubase 10. Even thou its built-in variaudio is much easier to use than other software, it sounds worse than melodyne, and much much worse than waves tune and Antares auto-tune manual mode. Also melodyne always destroys top end of audio and adds annoying artifacts. Pitch Correct automatically detects, adjusts, and fixes slight pitch and intonation inconsistencies in monophonic vocal and instrumental performances in realtime. The advanced algorithms preserve the formants of the original sound and allow for natural sounding pitch correction without the typical Mickey Mouse effect. Pitch-correcting vocal tracks. Nobody should ever be left alone in the dark. Or maybe that is out of tune? Ever wanted to master pitch correc.

Note

The VariAudio features are optimized for monophonic recordings of vocals. It may work well for other monophonic recordings, such as saxophone, as well. However, the quality of the result depends greatly on the recording.

Before you can edit the pitch and correct the timing of monophonic recordings, Cubase must analyze the audio and split it into segments. These segments are graphic representations of the individual notes.

Note
  • Due to the data gained during segmentation, the audio and thus the size of your project can increase.

  • If you load projects with VariAudio files in Cubase Artist, VariAudio modifications are ignored. If you want to hear your modifications in Cubase Artist, you must bounce the audio files that have been edited with the Cubase VariAudio features.
